Cllr George Jones Fine Gael Councillor commenting after Monday’s Cliff Walk Management Committee meeting said “I very much welcome the major changes and improvements that have come about in the last number of years. Cllr Jones continued “when Cllr John Ryan and I set up the “Friends of the Cliff Walk” some years ago it was the first time any public representatives had brought a focus to this great marine walk and the establishment of this Joint Committee has really brought the three local authorities on board to show case this amenity.

Cllr Jones suggested with all the improvements the walk was now in great shape and he hoped that during the coming months a lot more members of the local North Wicklow community would discover the great walk available on their doorstep.

Cllr Jones suggested at Monday’s meeting that in view of the works at the harbour more directional signs were required for the Greystones entrance to assist visitors to the area.

Cllr Jones concluded “while a lot of work has been done we must continue to bring about improvements and also hoped shortly that we could report progress on extending the Cliff Walk to including further coastal walks to Wicklow.”
