LIBRARY COMMITTEE MINUTES BOOK HANDED OVER

100 year old Minute Book donated to Library.

Some weeks ago a celebration to mark the opening of Greystones Public Library over 100 years ago took place. To Day Cllr George Jones Chairman of the Community Affairs SPC of Wicklow County Council handed over the 100 year Minute book of the Greystones Library Committee. The book recorded the first meeting in June 1912 and the book has been donated by Derek Paine who had the book in his possession for many and was delighted to be able to find a home for such a historic book in the safe keeping of Greystones Library.

Ms Gillian Misstear on behalf of the County Librarian Brendan Martin accepted the book and joined Cllr Jones in thanking Derek Paine for donation the book to the Library.

Cllr Jones said “I hope the whole community continue to support Greystones Library in the years ahead and thanked all the staff in putting in such a great effort in their work during these difficult financial times.
