Visit of Wurzburg German-Irish Association

Members of the Wurzburg German-Irish Association are visiting Wicklow and Bray from Wednesday 30th October to Sunday 3rd November.

Cllr George Jones Chairman of the Wicklow-Bray-Wurzburg partnership committee said 25 members lead by their President Matthias Fleckenstein are making their normal visit to the county as part of our very successful partnership agreement.

This partnership arrangement has been one of the most successful in the country as it has provided an opportunity for business organisations, community and cultural groups along with school exchanges to meet and get a better understanding of the ethos and workings of both Wurzburg and Bray-Wicklow.

The visiting group will include Eva-Maria Barklind-Schwander head of the International Partnership office of Wurzburg City Council who will use the opportunity to discuss the partnership program for 2014.

The group will visit places of interest of the La Touche family (following in the footsteps of the recent Gathering program) including Bellevue Estate, Luggala House, Marlay House and St Patrick’s Cathedral.
